Dear Buddy,
It seems like the whole world is in near collapse. Every
news channel, print and social media is filled with horror images of one
tragedy or the other. I hesitate each time I am about to access either one of
them. It feels like there is a grand conspiracy going on, or probably it is my
mind playing tricks on me. I often wonder why we do not get to see enough good
news on the various media outlet. A question I intend to ask the next Journalist I
come across.
The recent breakout of Ebola is so scary that I do not think
I have ever been more scared of any infection in my life. I do hope that a cure
or vaccine is found soon to control the rapid spread of the virus. My heart
weeps for all those infected through no fault of theirs. I cannot begin to
imagine what their families and loved ones are passing through. For a virus that
spreads through body fluid, you can never be too careful as recent cases have
shown. All we can do is to heed the advice of professional health consultants
and experts as well as pray that God helps the scientific community to discover
a way to combat the virus.
